The Jack Pearce Quintet are returning to St Mary’s after a popular performance during last year’s AW season. The band is made up of Leeds Conservatoire Alumni Jack Pearce (alto sax), Sam Hughes (guitar), Jascha Bingham (piano), Dan Sanderson (bass) and Angus Haygarth (drums).
The band delivers a programme that showcases Jack’s original compositions and pays homage to jazz traditions while drawing influence from post-bop and 90s world fusion. This young band’s energy is particularly apparent in a live setting, where they create an exciting musical experience with strong rhythms underpinning vibrant, playful melodies that appeal to both traditional and modern jazz fans.
Described as ‘A band about to make its mark on UK jazz’ following their first UK tour, the quintet are quickly building an impressive reputation on the live circuit.
