Frequently Asked Questions
St Mary’s Events Membership Scheme
Starts September 2025
Join St Mary’s membership scheme and for an annual fee of just £10, you’ll unlock a variety of member perks, including:
- A 10% discount on your tickets
- Advance notification of events, including early-bird pricing offers and priority booking opportunities
- VIP invites to special events
You’ll also be supporting St Mary’s Church all year round!
To become a member, simply select an event you’d like to book tickets for and choose the ‘Join Membership Scheme (£10pa) + 1 ticket’ option on the ticket-type selection screen.
This will allow you to pay for your membership and buy a ticket at the members’ discounted ticket price in one transaction.
You’ll then be emailed a membership number which you should note down (if you lose or forget this, drop Diane an email at stmarys@kirkbylonsdale.org for a reminder).
Thereafter, whenever you want to book a ticket for an event at St Mary’s, you’ll be able to select the ‘Members’ ticket option. You’ll be invited to input your membership number and can then check out at the reduced price.
If you want to buy a ticket in person, just give your membership number to one of the stewards on the door and they’ll process your purchase at the members’ price.
We’ll send you a reminder to renew your membership when it’s due, together with the cost of the next year’s membership (which may change from year to year). There is no obligation to continue your membership after a year but if you don’t renew, you’ll no longer be able to buy tickets at a discounted price. Renewals will follow the same process (i.e. choosing the ‘Join Membership Scheme (£10pa) + 1 ticket’ option on the ticket-type selection screen.)
Please note that your membership isn’t refundable or transferable and can only be used to buy 1 x reduced-price ticket for each event (for the membership-holder) for the duration of your membership.
Please contact Diane (stmarys@kirkbylonsdale.org) if you have any queries about the scheme.
How can I book tickets to events at St Mary’s, Kirkby Lonsdale?
Tickets are available direct from our website. Simply click the ‘More Info’ button next to your chosen event and you’ll be taken to a full description plus a ‘Get Tickets’ option. Digital tickets will be sent via email. If you have a smartphone, there’s no need to print tickets out – just present your digital tickets at the door. If you have any difficulty booking, please call Diane on 07850 159237.
Is parking available at St Mary’s?
St Mary’s is situated at the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale, a Georgian market town in a picturesque South Lakes location. Unfortunately, the compact and historic nature of the town means that parking is limited. Although there is no parking directly outside the church, there are a number of public car parks just a few minutes’ walk away (map). Audience members with mobility issues can be dropped off at the western entrance (Fairbank). Please do not park on double yellow lines.
How accessible is St Mary’s Church?
There is level, paved access to the church from the Fairbank entrance with good access into the church itself (no steps) through the main doors on the southern side. Wheelchairs can be accommodated and space reserved – please email hello@stmarysevents.kirkbylonsdale.org. All our events have free carer tickets available (one per paid booking) for those who need dedicated support.
Can I buy refreshments?
Where will outdoor events be held?
We’re planning a programme of outdoor events for the summer months. These will be held on the Glebe – an enclosed, grassed area to the north of St Mary’s and situated a short stroll from the church (see map). Gates from the churchyard will normally be opened 30-45 minutes before the event and directions will be signposted. No seating will be provided for these events – you’ll need to bring a blanket or folding chairs, as well as weather-appropriate clothing and accessories (though no umbrellas, please). WC facilities are available in the church.
Can I book allocated seating?
Seating isn’t allocated. If you’re attending a traditional concert-style event, you can expect to be seated on pews (feel free to bring a cushion!). If you’ve booked tickets for a cabaret-style performance, you’ll be seated at tables. Feel free to send an email if you’ve booked multiple tickets for a group and would like to share a table – hello@stmarysevents.kirkbylonsdale.org.
