SUMMARY:The King’s Men
DESCRIPTION:The King’s Men is the close-harmony group formed from the Choral Scholars of the Choir of King’s College\, Cambridge. As Choral Scholars\, they follow the daily routine of Chapel services throughout term\, as well as undertaking a busy concert and recording schedule in the vacations. \nPerhaps best-known for the broadcast of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on radio each Christmas (and its companion programme\, Carols from King’s\, on BBC television)\, the Choir is world famous. \nThe King’s Men perform regularly around Britain\, and as far afield as North America\, Australia and China. Each summer\, they embark on a limited tour of England\, usually performing at just a handful of venues in the North and South of the country. We are delighted to welcome them here to Kirkby Lonsdale for what we think will be a landmark event. \nWe’re recommending people book early for this concert as tickets will sell quickly and we can’t guarantee last-minute availability on the night. \nRunning time (approx): 2hrs 20min (inc 20-minute interval)Suitable for all ages. (All children must be accompanied by an adult) \nEvent Details \n\n\n\n\nGeneral\n£13.00\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUnder 16\n£10.00\n\n\n\n\nAll tickets carry a small booking fee shown at time of purchase \nDoors Open at 6:45PMStarts at 7:30PM \nTicketing Provider https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/st-marys-events \n \n Get Tickets

SUMMARY:Romeo and Juliet at the Glebe
DESCRIPTION:Two wealthy families\, the Montagues and the Capulets\, are at war. Their feud has been long and bitter. But when Romeo\, Montague’s son\, gatecrashes Capulet’s party in disguise\, everything changes. There he meets Juliet\, Capulet’s daughter\, and the pair fall into an intense\, forbidden love that sets in motion a chain of events leading to a devastating conclusion. \nFrom a secret rendezvous in a moonlit garden to a fateful duel under the scorching Verona sun\, Shakespeare masterfully explores the enduring power of love\, revenge and fate in one of his best-loved stories. But the surprising thing about this iconic tragedy is that it’s extremely funny too! \nPerformed by Illyria in the great outdoors\, this fast-paced\, polished\, beautifully spoken production has been created using only the First Folio text\, the most authoritative edition of Shakespeare’s plays. Illyria first performed this terrific play more than two decades ago to critical acclaim worldwide. This summer it returns for a third time: passionate\, poetic\, and utterly gripping! \nRunning time (approx): 2hrs 20min (inc 20–minute interval)Please click the link to see our explanation of suitability for all ages.
