SUMMARY:Jack Pearce Quintet
DESCRIPTION:The Jack Pearce Quintet are returning to St Mary’s after a popular performance during last year’s AW season. The band is made up of Leeds Conservatoire Alumni Jack Pearce (alto sax)\, Sam Hughes (guitar)\, Jascha Bingham (piano)\, Dan Sanderson (bass) and Angus Haygarth (drums). \nThe band delivers a programme that showcases Jack’s original compositions and pays homage to jazz traditions while drawing influence from post-bop and 90s world fusion. This young band’s energy is particularly apparent in a live setting\, where they create an exciting musical experience with strong rhythms underpinning vibrant\, playful melodies that appeal to both traditional and modern jazz fans. \nDescribed as ‘A band about to make its mark on UK jazz’ following their first UK tour\, the quintet are quickly building an impressive reputation on the live circuit. \n‘Rich\, Lyrical\, Soulful Playing.’ Lancaster Jazz Scene \nThursday 19 NovemberSt Mary’s Church7.30PM (doors open 6.45PM)Tickets £15 adult; £10 U18s; £13.50 members \nPop-Up Bar. \nJack Pearce Quintet \n  \n

SUMMARY:The Pocket Choral Society
DESCRIPTION:The Pocket Choral Society is a new a cappella show featuring around 70% original music filled with humour and poignancy along with new versions of songs by Flanders & Swann\, Tom Waits and Lennon & McCartney. Four top singers blend perfectly\, unaccompanied and unamplified\, performing as characters from the (fictional) village of Pocket. It’s a music show but with a bit of theatre and lots of familiar themes for market town dwellers. \n“Like Bill Bailey meets The Archers” Derbyshire Live & Local promoter“You’ll be captivated by their seamless harmonies\, inventive songwriting\, and infectious laughter\, all interwoven with impromptu singing sessions. The Pocket Choral Society comprises seasoned vocalists whose voices meld into a harmonious tapestry.” SLAP Magazine“Really enjoyed the show – the village theme is a stroke of genius” Peter van Tongeren\, Great Witley Village Hall promoter.“Utterly quirky and hugely engaging ……..very silly and very clever.” Jackie\, Winster Village Hall audience member.“A wonderful evening in the company of the excellent Pocket Choral Society. Their intricate a capella arrangements and humorous self-penned songs\, many focused on the gentle absurdities of village life\, delivered a fabulous evening’s entertainment\, enthusiastically lapped up by an appreciative audience. Many Thanks again!” Linda\, Promoter Dalbury Lees Millenium Hall.“Everyone was completely enthralled with the performance.” Pete Clapham\, Salties Folk & Acoustic Club \nSaturday 28 November \nSt Mary’s Church7.30PM (doors open 6.45PM)Tickets £15 adult; £10 U18s; £13.50 members \nPop-Up Bar. \nThe Pocket Choral Society
