SUMMARY:A Warning To The Curious
DESCRIPTION:Two Uncanny Stories by M R James\, expertly performed by R M Lloyd Parry. \n‘Sometimes\, you know\, you see him\, and sometimes you don’t\, just as he pleases. I think: he’s there\, but he has some power over your eyes… He won’t forgive me\, I can tell that. And I was so happy a fortnight ago.’ \nLost Hearts features one of James’ most memorable black magicians\, the predatory Mr. Abney.  It is paired here with one of James’ most poignant and personal works: in A Warning to the Curious\, inspired by the author’s holidays in Aldeburgh\, a young archaeologist is haunted by the guardian of an ancient treasure. The English seaside has never looked so menacing. \n‘Lloyd Parry’s beautifully modulated performance is perfectly judged to send an enjoyable chill down the spine.’ – Metro \nSuitable for ages 13+Performance lasts approx 100 minutes including interval.WARNING: CONTAINS MOMENTS OF PLEASING TERROR \nA filmed performance of the story and a documentary\, ‘Dim Presences’\, about the cultural and historical background to ‘A Warning to the Curious’ can be purchased here. \nTuesday 27 October7.30pm\, doors open at 6.45pmPop-up-barTickets £15 adult; £10 U18; £13.50 membersSuitable for ages 13+
